A driver was killed on Interstate 95 this afternoon when he ran off the roadway, overcorrected and his 2001 Ford Ranger overturned.
Jeffery Lee Simmons, 52, of Port Orange was traveling northbound on I-95 south of State Road 44 when his vehicle went off the inside of the roadway. He overcorrected and crossed back over the highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He was ejected and died at the scene.
Simmons was not wearing a seat belt.
