A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured Monday when she fell three floors at The Falls Shopping Center.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said witnesses told officials that the girl was leaning against the escalator handrail on the third floor of Macy’s when she fell.
The girl fell all the way to the first floor, where she landed behind a cosmetics counter, officials said.
An air rescue helicopter took the girl to a local trauma center.
The girl was being treated for serious injuries at Miami Children’s Hospital on Monday night.
Authorities are investigating what caused the girl to fall.
