A small plane is still sitting in the water near North Bay Village after a crash landing Sunday off the 79th Street Causeway.
The pilot, John Clark, and his two passengers, however, made it out without a scratch.
The plane was traveling from Nassau in the Bahamas to Tamiami Airport when the engine malfunctioned in the air.
That’s when Clark’s 30 years of experience as a pilot kicked in.
After finding a safe place in the open water, he let the plane glide to safety.
Clark and the two passengers were taken to dry ground as the plane sunk into the water.
Although clearly shaken up, none of those on board were injured.
