Driving under the influence might have been to blame for a crash that injured a Miami-Dade police officer Thursday morning. The officer was injured while riding her police motorcycle at the intersection of Caribbean Boulevard and Holiday Drive.Police said the driver of the other vehicle might have been drunk. He was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser, though no charges have yet been filed.
The officer was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
It was unclear who was at fault or if the officer was on duty at the time.
